I'm based in Northern New Jersey and regularly photograph clients throughout Morris County, Essex County, Union County, Bergen County, Somerset County, and surrounding areas.
I specialize in dance photography, theater photography, concert photography, portraits, headshots, and event photography.
My background in dance, theater, and live performance photography has taught me how to anticipate moments, capture emotion, and tell stories through images. Whether I'm photographing a performance, professional headshots, or a portrait session, my goal is to create authentic images that feel natural and true to you.
Booking is simple. Reach out through the contact form and we'll discuss your vision, location, scheduling, and session details.
My goal is to make your experience fun, relaxing, and fulfilling. I want you to get the best photos possible., so expect professionalism with a side of laughter.
If there is a specific look you are trying to achieve, send via email or come with inspiration photos. I will do my best to recreate them and/or do our own special twist on it. We do not want to copy per say, but inspire.
An emailed gallery will be sent within 2 weeks of the shoot with a download code. Once downloaded, you can use the images for social media, websites, and other media. (please tag smphotosnj with your posts and no filters or additional edits may be made to the images after delivery)
I also like to promote and show my amazing clientele. Please advise at the time of booking or prior to the shoot if you would like images and BTS (behind the scenes) videos to not be shared on our website/social media. You have the right to privacy but I do not know that unless you tell me.
All session fees include the following:
-1 hour photo session (this includes any time changing looks or getting ready if not already set when arriving)
-travel to the desired location
-any and all necessary photography related equipment needed to achieve the discussed look)
-the SMPhotos standard edits
-a digital online gallery with all completed images and download code (available for 1 calendar year)
-usage rights to print, distribute, and use images (no additional filters or edits permitted)
Sessions begin at $250.
Headshots only are $150 per client.
Recitals/Performances - $200 per show.
Event packaging:
-4 hour event with one photographer - $1,250
-6 hour event with one photographer - $1,850
-8 hour event with one photographer - $2,500
*additional/second photographer - add $1,000
This will be at a location of the client's choosing.
My studio space is located at Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ. Upon arrival, contact me and I will meet you at the back stage door.
Other options include client's personal homes, offices, studios, theaters, schools, etc. Parks and other outdoor locations are an option as well, though many NJ parks require permits, so please be aware of this when making that choice as the permit fee will not be included in the session fee.
For my performance clients, please come as you would for class or an audition. You want to be recognizable to your students and agents/hiring professionals. You may bring as many outfits/looks you feel we can cover within the time slot.
Portrait clients, come with hair and makeup done, any outfits they wish to be photographed in, and extras they wish to include with their photos (i.e props)
All images are edited to the SMPhotos standard. If you would like any additional edits upon your gallery, please mark that item in the gallery with a heart (<3) and email details about the requested edits.
5 total additional edits are included with each gallery. After, each additional edit will be $5.
Please do not ask about making yourself look skinnier. They say if you cannot fix something within 30 seconds, do not comment on it. Same goes for the photos. I want you to look like YOU.

Not at all. While the store is available to you through the gallery using the shopping cart icon, you are more than welcome to download your images with your download code and print through your local printer.
Again, no filters or additional edits can be done to images in the gallery.
I love ALL the fuzzies/crawlies (except squirrels.... do not ask... I know it's weird but they are my only nope)
All pets must be under the control of their owner at all times. If that is a struggle, please make sure you bring someone with you to assist with handling of your pet.
We also do not guarantee pet cooperation with images. Not all pets like the camera, even if I want them too.
I accept ALL types of clients.
Pending the days schedule, additional time can be added at half hour increments. The $150 fee will need to be paid prior to the extension.
If the schedule does not permit, (i.e. another client having the next slot), we can work on scheduling a second session.
I have a wonderful contact list of local models throughout the area. I can happily provide you with their contact information to discuss their availability and fees.

Dance sessions can take place either in a studio or outdoors, depending on the look and feel you're hoping to achieve. Outdoor sessions require some flexibility with weather conditions, while both indoor and outdoor sessions require careful planning around lighting to create the best possible images. If you're inspired by a particular photo or style, we'll discuss how it was created and choose a location that helps bring that vision to life. Studio sessions are often the best choice for recreating dramatic lighting or controlled artistic looks.
Yes! I photograph live dance performances, recitals, showcases, and competitions. I am also available to photograph technical rehearsals, which can often provide excellent opportunities to capture performers in action.
Hair and makeup should be completed before the session whenever possible. Dancers should bring any costumes, dancewear, shoes, props, or accessories they would like included in their images. If you're planning multiple looks, outfit changes are encouraged.
Yes! I photograph live theater productions, dress rehearsals, and technical rehearsals. My goal is to capture the energy, emotion, and storytelling that make each production unique.
Absolutely. Promotional photography can include production imagery, cast portraits, rehearsal coverage, marketing photos, and other content to help promote your show across websites, social media, and print materials.
Yes! Individual cast portraits, group photos, and production team portraits can all be incorporated into a theater photography package.
Yes! I photograph concerts, live music performances, festivals, and special events, capturing both the energy of the performers and the atmosphere of the experience.
